Michael Haggans is an independent scholar of the future of the physical campus in a digital world - studying the facilities implications of digital transformation of higher education. A licensed architect, Haggans has a masters of Architecture from the University of Buffalo and bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Kansas.

He has led architectural practices serving campuses throughout the U.S. and Canada, and was University Architect at the University of Missouri and the University of Arizona. Additionally, Haggans has taught at the University of Kansas, North Carolina State University, University of Minnesota and Georgia Institute of Technology.
